Small Groups

Small groups are a great help in growing as disciples and thinking about some of the big questions of life. They are also a good way to get to know and support each other in an informal and friendly setting, studying the Bible together and applying it to our daily lives.

St John’s currently offers four groups, covering both daytimes and evenings. The daytime groups meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings, and evening groups meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. There is also a weekly prayer group on Fridays.

Each year we offer groups for adults and young people preparing for Confirmation, as a way of expressing faith formally. For people who have not been baptised as infants, there is also the opportunity to be baptised in a short service at the beach.

Christianity Explored

We offer regular Christianity Explored courses looking at the heart of the Christian faith. This seven week course is ideal for people who are...

  • finding out about Christianity;

  • wanting a refresher on Christian beliefs;

  • thinking about a step forward in faith.

The course is a fun and informal chance to get to grips with big questions so bring your own questions – none is too simple or too hostile. Each evening begins with drinks and desserts, followed by a short DVD and a group discussion.

Children’s and Youth Groups
